Dear Wordsworth Hotel,
On behalf of the members of my party (a family event), may I say [again], how much we all enjoyed your first class Hospitality today.
From the moment we arrived (albeit from the wrong entrance = my fault) we were treated, by every member of Staff, with fine concern and that brand of professional 'nicety' that I associate with the best hotels in Europe.
The Garden Room was a perfect place for lunch, the food excellent, beautifully presented, served with deft skill. The table arrangement, for this relaxed, family party, impeccable.
Nothing too much, nothing too little ... and the secret: no fuss. Result: ENJOYMENT!
My Mother cannot wait to "grub-up" with you all again!
And that goes for me too.

Hello Polly,
You may remember us from the Christmas break, when you kindly managed to get (at the last minute) a duvet for our bed, and also that we came second in the duck race.
We were at the Wordsworth again last week, for the four nights of your 'election package'. This was our forth visit in 16 months. We had, as we always do, a great time and, again as always, we were lucky with the weather and were able to undertake some fine walks in the hills..
The reason for emailing you is to say how impressed we were with the changes you have made. The restaurant and the conservarory have been redecorated and refurbuished with style and flair, retaining elements of traditional distinctiveness combined with well considered moves to a more contemporary feel. Just the right combination. Congratulations !
The standards of service and the range and quality of the food were of the usual very high standard, although your father told us that further changes are being made which will raise the standards of the food even higher. We also look forward to using the new gym when that is finished. We were delighted to see some familiar faces among the staff, all of whom consistantly provide exceptional service.
We will undoubtedly be back, quite possiby at Christmas again. The Wordsworth, combined with its setting in one of the most beautiful places in the country, is our favourite hotel. You, your family and your team are making it even better.
We know that you were on holiday last week but we hope to see you again on our next visit. Meantime, we wish you every success for the rest of the summer season.
With Best Wishes
James and Ursula White
Hi Polly,
I just want to thank you, and your colleagues, for organising the two rooms so thoughtfully and for making us feel so welcome on Friday / Saturday.
My mum thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the hotel and I must say that all of the staff were excellent – very courteous, polite and attentive.
As I mentioned when we were leaving, the quality and presentation of the food (both dinner and breakfast) was superb.
We’d have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to our friends.
Thanks once again.
Steve
